"Day and Night" table clock
Very fine and extremely rare two-dialed table clock with day and night dials and quarter striking.
Rectangular, ebonised, outset corners flanked by gilt bronze fluted corinthian pillasters raised on fielded plinths, three side base panels set with a guilloché flowerhead mount.
White enamel daytime dial, archtop and polished nightime dial.
Striking hours and quarters with 2 hammers and 2 bells.
Attributed to Jaquet-Droz, La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1780.
