Pocket Watch "J.C.White"
An unusual gold, enamel, pearl and glass paste set, centered seconds, quarter hour bell striking clockwatch. Self-winding watch movement. Case-back painted in polychrome enamel representing a couple in a garden with a small dog on their feet. Bezels with circles of half pearls alternating with red stones bordered by polchrome enamel geometric design.
It is an early exemple of a self-winding watch.
Signed J.C. White but attributed to Jaquet-Droz, London, circa 1790.
